Faculty Member, Institute of Historical Sciences

About

I received my academic training within an interdisciplinary doctoral program in Historical Anthropology at the Charles University in Prague. Currently, I teach at the Institute of Historical Sciences (Silesian University in Opava), concentrating on early modern cultural history. In my work I put special emphasis on interconnecting history with cultural anthropology and visual and literary studies. My current projects include a chapter on conceptualizations of piety in recent historiography (post WW II) within a collective monograph on key concepts in world historiography which will be published by the Charles University. I am also pursuing a grant project with the working title Reading, Translating, Publishing and Writing as Means of Cultural Transfer − Anna Katharina and Franz Karl of Sweerts-Sporck in the Eighteenth Century Processes of Cultural Transmission.
